Fluorescent Lights: Energy Efficient, BUT...
By Plairen
Fluorescent lights, which are now being advertised as a simple
way to save electricity, are actually a form of energetic
pollution of our environment. Studies made by Dr. James DeMeo
published in The Orgone Accumulator Handbook reveal
that the light given by fluorescents induces a state of hyper-activity
in bio-organisms. For instance, when fluorescent "full
spectrum" lights are used to grow plants, the leaves
grow large and disproportionate to the roots and stems. After
a short time the roots of these plants begin to mutate, starting
to resemble the roots of plants that had been affected by
large doses of radioactivity.
A bioelectric comparison was made of a philodendron which
was both exposed to and not exposed to fluorescent light.
The readings, both were taken with the philodendron enclosed
in a totally dark box, showed dramatic differences. When no
fluorescent light was on nearby, the voltage of the plant
was a fairly level line on the chart. When a fluorescent light
was turned on the voltage went all over the chart, and the
average (life energy) level started to decline.
When the same experiment was done with a television in place
of the fluorescent light, the results were the same. Fluorescent
lights and televisions both have similar radio wave emissions.
John Ott in his book Health and Light documented studies
that showed aggressive tendencies among pet minks and fish
were eliminated by removing fluorescent lights from their
environment. In further studies, aggression in children was
found to be connected with regular exposure to fluorescent
lights and televisions. Some teachers have found that classroom
behavior is much improved by turning off the fluorescent lights.
(Hopefully studies will be soon be conducted to determine
if reducing or eliminating fluorescent lights and television
will help alleviate attention-deficit hyperactivity disorders
(ADHD) within childrenand thereby eliminate prescriptions
for Methylphenidate, also known as Ritalin.)
Sensibly, since the human eye has evolved to use sunlight,
the most healthy form of electric lighting is that which most
closely duplicates the light of the sun. Unfrosted (because
the frosting cuts out some of the spectrum) incandescent bulbs
are very close to the suns spectrum and are the most
healthy lights on the market today.
Future research into non-fluorescent and energy-efficient
lighting may lead to more extensive use of the recently developed
white light emitting diodes (WLED). Unlike the common incandescent
bulbs, WLEDs operate without a filament. They also do not
burn out and can operate for a hundred times longer than an
incandescent bulb. They are also more efficient than incandescents
in that they do not waste additional energy in the emission
of heat.
A Spiritual Parallel
by Gabriel of Sedona
In a spiritual sense there are true and false lights that
the truth seeker must discern along the many paths of spiritual
discovery. Some teachers may seem to shine brightly; however,
like the fluorescent energy, they will emanate damaging thought
forms which may seem illuminating at the moment but lead to
confusion and darkness.
