Architectural Worlds and Celestial Abodes as Compared to Development and Housing on a Fallen World

Some Native Americans have observed that you can always tell where the white man has been when looking from the mountain top—everything is squared off. Most indigenous cultures lived in partnership with nature. Their actual living space was minimal, and most of the daily life was spent outdoors, so people felt at one with nature. A tribe of many people could live in a small area, coexisting with each other because they utilized the common space for working, recreation, food, and water.

In today's dominant culture of western civilization, where the industrialized, mechanistic society gets further and further away from true family and neighborhood environments, the necessities of life are found in supermarkets, shopping centers, and malls outside of the neighborhoods. Where thousands of people used to live and work within a neighborhood, now thousands of acres are needed to build four- to six-thousand-foot homes that may only house two people and may be lived in only part of the year.

A new concept (to this planet), divine architecture, embraces the concept of the family cooperating with nature—nature and humankind blessing and complementing each other. The URANTIA Book, the Fifth Epochal Revelation, describes higher worlds which are the divine patterns for existence. Architectural worlds are one type of planet "built according to plans and specifications for some special purpose…" (p. 172) Both The URANTIA Book and Continuing Fifth Epochal Revelation, The Cosmic Family volumes, teach that the construction of architectural worlds and the housing built on them are designed to complement the ascension of beings living on those spheres. Besides housing contributing to the ascension of mortal beings, architectural worlds provide administrators a center to serve their appointed governmental sectors within divine administration principles.

Jerusem [planetary name of the headquarters world of our local system] has great buildings of both material and morontia [a level between material and spirit] types, while the embellishment of the purely spiritual zones is no less exquisite and replete. If I only had words to tell you of the morontia counterparts of the marvelous physical equipment of Jerusem! If I could only go on to portray the sublime grandeur and exquisite perfection of the spiritual appointments of this headquarters world! Your most imaginative concept of perfection of beauty and repleteness of appointment would hardly approach these grandeurs. And Jerusem is but the first step on the way to the supernal perfection of Paradise beauty. (The URANTIA Book, p. 523)

The URANTIA Book tells us there is a group of seraphim called Social Architects. The Cosmic Family volumes give further information. The Social Architects inspire architecture in relation to individuals on any of the seven psychic circles—indicators of mortal spiritual attainment and consciousness levels. On higher worlds, consciousness, form, flow of energy, and color all work together in the design of living spaces to better help the soul ascend spiritually and promote rest as well as recreation. Community buildings are also designed in relation to the mass consciousness of the extended family or particular cosmic family of a particular genetic background or universe origin. Continuing Fifth Epochal Revelation tells us that even Celestial Architects, when helping to build an architectural world, seek time and space locations void of inappropriate energies.

The Cosmic Family, Volume I speaks of the distortion waves and delusion energies on our planet of evolutionary origin:

Distortion waves are energy frequencies which cause the breakdown of the equilibrium in the physical body and certain thought patterns causing disorientation and inability to function efficiently, resulting in mistakes, accidents and increased corruption. Delusion energy frequencies are harmonic energy pattern aligned to higher fourth-dimensional frequencies of the cosmologic vibration pattern of Nebadon [our local universe] which will affect unaligned personalities to whom they may be directed in adverse ways causing an intensification of their own negative delusional vibrations to manifest in their lives. Where are these waves and energies and how do they affect the inhabitants on this planet? The Cosmic Family volumes tell us that cities with a population of over 20,000 are particularly affected. These distortion and delusion energies are partly the reason for individuals going insane and committing mass murders and other crimes that did not happen twenty years ago at the rate they are happening today. These energies are like a huge web that entangles the entire region and blocks the Thought Adjuster (Spirit of the Universal Father), Spirit of Truth, and other angelic communication from getting through to the soul.

For thousands of years the simple Zen approach to environmental living-space design and building has been taught. Frank Lloyd Wright was before his time in his architecture. Many of his designs harmoniously connected with the flow of nature. He would build homes around trees and have water flow through the house in order to bring the energies of the Mother Earth to those who dwelled within.

Today, not only does the imbalance occur when maximum space is exploited for minimal person use, on the other extreme, because of the proliferation of suburbs and subdivisions, millions of American houses are built practically on top of one another. County and city zoning and codes allow developers to swallow up the open land to build the maximum amount of structures per acre. From a spiritual perspective, these neighborhoods consist of thousands of individuals who are very much out of the will of God in their personal lives. Living in an apartment complex is even worse. Inner city projects promote hopelessness and crime because people feel boxed in. Whether one lives in a home of thousands of square feet or exists within a wave of apartment building complexes, both are far cries from the original design introduced during the times of Adam and Eve: "…simple but charming garden homes." (The URANTIA Book, p. 822)

The architect Paolo Soleri had the vision of building a city that fused architecture and ecology where a maximum, yet limited, amount of people could live in close proximity with nearby access to farm land and rural space. He is building a model city near Prescott, Arizona called Arcosanti. I was able to meet with Soleri in 1989 and shared the following with him:

Continuing Fifth Epochal Revelation teaches that living space for a maximum amount of people in city planning, even if architecturally brilliant, will not work unless the city's inhabitants are unified in the divine mind of God at the third psychic level. (This is a level of higher consciousness.) Else they will argue and kill each other as history has taught, or in modern times in America, ignore each other and have no true community in their neighborhoods. Architecture should always include the concept mentioned in The URANTIA Book called the "union of souls." Human mortals are created by God to be social creatures not isolated from each other.

Some city and county zoning and housing codes are written against people utilizing space efficiently, hindering ecological and sustainable living. Land ownership, architectural design, and construction of residential and commercial properties on our fallen world often have more to do with how much money you have and how much more money or taxes can be made by the city, county, or state bureaucracy. Even the building industry predominantly sells materials that maximize profit over consideration of sustainable or spiritual-designed environments.

Besides lack of ecological and sociological considerations in home design, the electricity from our heating, cooling, and refrigeration systems drains our bodies' energy, and the alternating current disturbs our bodies' circuitry or charka points as well as our mind circuits. Distortion sounds from machines as well as other unnatural disharmonic noise cuts off our connection to living spiritual forces that are designed by God for our ascension. So although the world may be modern, it inhibits us to hear from God and to channel our energies to best meet our individual destinies and to best help others meet their destinies.

In the March 2005 issue of Ode magazine, in an article entitled, "Primal Force. How Magnetic Energy Can Improve Our Health,"1 it says:

This growth in disorder around us may be explained by the increasing disruption of the natural magnetism that supports health and harmony. The explosive increase in unnatural electromagnetic fields is making increasing numbers of earth dwellers "space sick". Just like the cosmonauts, people are losing contact with the natural frequencies that support life on earth. A large number of appliances emit extremely low electromagnetic frequencies, often in the same frequency area as the fields that control the biological processes in our bodies. This radiation can disturb hormonal and biochemical processes.
…All matter living and non-living is an electromagnetic phenomenon. The material world, at least as far as physics has penetrated, is an atomic structure held together by electromagnetic forces....The human species has changed its electromagnetic background more than any other aspect of the environment.2
Experiments with animals have showed that disturbing the electromagnetic fields can have serious consequences. Bees, fish and termites veer off course and are no longer able to perform certain functions. When you destroy half a termite's nest and then disrupt the workers' electromagnetic communication, they no longer know what to do.

Some people, particularly in cities, live near electric power lines, as well as electric trolleys and/or streetcars, and subways and sky-rails. Only by living in an environment protected by Celestial Overcontrol, such as with Divine Administration, can these negative influences be diminished.

Ecological planning is just beginning to take a foothold in some more progressive cities. The fusion of ascension science with architectural design is only understood in fourth-dimensional thinking as learned in Continuing Fifth Epochal Revelation and taught in Divine Administration.3

The spiritual and physical laws that the Universal Father has created for His free-will children only work, however, when those children choose to be in the center of God's perfect will. I'd rather live in a tipi in the perfect will of God and have peace in my heart than in a mansion outside of the will of God with depression and anxiety. Yet you can live in the physical mansion designed by God for your total happiness and be in God's will. The two can come together, if you can let go of your will and truly become the highest architect of your spiritual ascension.
