The Dow of Dying

Seventy-five thousand manufactured chemical
compounds
Mixed up, sprayed and spread the world around.
No place on planet Earth where they are not found,
In your hairs, bones, heirs, your air, water, and ground.
DuPont advises, “Chemistry makes better living.”
But they don’t want to see what they are giving.
Their attention’s focused on the dollars for divvying.
For the sins they are committing, we may be long in forgiving.
Whenever and wherever we look, we find mercury,
PCBs, lead,
But by TVGOVERNMENTMEDIA talking heads, nothing’s said.
Monsanto, Dow, Union Carbide know their profitable poisons bled
Into lakes, streams, oceans, and soils, now dying, or dead.
We’d like chemical-free food, but they say we
cain’t.
If we ask if chemical food is dangerous, they say it ain’t
If we disagree, WTO says we’ve no legal grounds for complaint,
And the FDA gives them a stamp of approval as Corporate Saint.
In the past these chemical poisons would mostly
kill us slow.
That way it was less likely we would ever know
Who was responsible for immune systems laid low
And death occuring well before our time to go.
If Monsanto or DuPont had a face, it would have
Pinocchio’s nose.
If ADM is the “the nature of what’s to come” for what grows,
Then the nature of Nature is coming to a close.
If we don’t intervene, oppose poisonous greed, what then?
God only knows.
Why have whales and ocean organisms taken a dive?
Why have honey bees disappeared from the hive?
Hold them accountable for the hundreds of species no longer alive!
