Earth Changes: What in the World are We Manifesting?

by Lah-May

Descended from a family of Midwest farmers who saw normalcy in blizzards, droughts, and floods, talk of earth changes was just that—talk. Even after I ventured away from conservative mindsets and into new ways of thinking, I continued to hold a skeptic's attitude towards prophecies of coming drastic changes.

Massive solar storms happening? They don't seem to affect me too much—my computer acts up sometimes anyhow, and you know how unreliable pagers can be. A shift in the magnetic poles? Sounds like weird science fiction. An increase of earthquakes around the world? Aren’t those just repercussions of normal geological formations and fluctuations? The continental United States splitting and California being swallowed by the ocean? Well…maybe in the way off future—long after I'm gone.

I've at least had enough awareness to know that change is constant—but what is normal change and what is not? Greenland has long held a fascination for me, having lived there for several months. A recent map showing how global warming was affecting the continent especially sobered me. Just over the last several years, the ice has retreated significantly. But, hey, since it's not a hot vacation spot (no pun intended), why should anyone be concerned? Well, it's not just happening in Greenland. And, while global warming may cause some areas to warm significantly, such warming can be a catalyst to ice age conditions in other parts of the world. I know, I know, the skepticism is setting in. But get this, it's not just nerdy scientists and frustrated Inuit hunters who are concerned. The Pentagon is taking notice of recent research that indicates the earth climate is at a critical threshold.

Serious attention is being paid to the Gulf Stream. Anyone who has a basic understanding of chemistry knows the density of water is determined by temperature and salinity. (I admit it; I didn't remember this from the chemistry I took years ago.) Circulating in the Atlantic ocean is the Gulf Stream. It does more than act as a conveyer moving around water, though. It brings heat to the eastern U.S. as well as northern Europe. As warm water flows north from the tropics it cools and becomes more dense, which causes it to sink in the North Atlantic and start heading south again. In the sinking process it draws more water from the south, keeping the current moving. But with fresh water from melting glaciers flowing into the North Atlantic, the current's salinity is lowered, affecting its density and tendency to sink. Basically, the heat pump is shutting down. And we're not talking centuries; scientists are looking at drastic changes within the decade.

Back to the Pentagon. Late last year the Pentagon published an unclassified study of possible worldwide disasters and scenarios that could happen as a result of global warming. The Pentagon shared it with Fortune magazine. [Whoa! Hold it. Stop the press. A red flag has just gone up! Why Fortune magazine? Is this going to be more about ensuring the wealthy keep their riches rather than helping the possibly hundreds of millions who will be facing the full effects of worldwide disasters? Because, unless the leaders around the world wake-up and hear nature's cries, a lot of people are going to live a hell on earth.]

Here are some of the scenarios presented in the Pentagon's report:

Where are the leaders who will face the problem in its global entirety? The current mindset, gleaned from the Pentagon's scenarios and proposals, is, under the guise of “national security,” to hole up and protect what is ours from the possibly marauding masses.
Yet even disaster preparations are but Band-Aide solutions. Deeper questions need to be asked. What is the real cause of earth changes? Ponder the statement from The Cosmic Family, Volume I, “Energy follows thought.” Some time back I read an article by Derrick Jensen in the Sun magazine (July 1997) where he interviewed Cleve Backster who has performed some very interesting experiments with plants. In a nutshell, Backster has demonstrated that plants respond to our intents, our emotions, our rages, and even our long-distance thoughts.

So, you may ask, where's the connection between mood-sensitive plants and earth changes? How about the interrelatedness of the elements (atomic and subatomic reality) that we all share—we being the humans, the animals, the plants, and the very earth itself? We (humans) need to wake up to the reality that the consciousness of the people on our planet affects the elements. And the elements make up the weather, the volcanoes, the plates, the water, plants, animals, our bodies…everything.

Quantum physics has also provided some insights into the interdependence between the various parts and the whole of nature. Among the contributions of physicist Werner Heisenberg (1932 Nobel Prize winner) was the “uncertainty principle” which states (in simple terms) that the observer alters the observed by the mere act of observation. And physicist Erwin Schroedinger (1933 Nobel prize winner) stated: “...inconceivable as it seems to ordinary reason, you—and all other conscious beings as such—are all in all. Hence this life of yours which you are living is not merely a piece of the entire existence, but is, in a certain sense, the whole...”

So, how are we doing in our interactions with everyone and everything around us? Based on the state of the planet—the wars, the pollution, the gross consumerism, etc.—not too good. We know the direction in which we are rapidly heading. What we need to realize is we can and need to be the shift to a more stable world. Higher thoughts, higher intentions, and higher motives can manifest a planet of benevolence and stability. All we need is to come together and build a foundation upon the highest truth of all—the Father-/Motherhood of God and brother-/sisterhood of humankind. A simple, almost too familiar adage some may claim. But one, when taken seriously and to heart, will result in the dissolution of the lower human tendencies such as selfishness, greed, prejudice, and violence and the evolution of supernal qualities such as service to others, tolerance, honesty, fairness, and peace.

The grand universe is an organic whole with millions of systems filled with multitudes of worlds and creatures at all levels of material, spiritual, and other existence, ever evolving together with various forces in a harmonic pattern towards a higher reality, towards perfection.
